Kilpisjärvi Saana lake ski trail starts from the kilpis-lake near the Kilpis hotel at kilpisjärvi.  It is a ski trail loop that can be skied right around the Saana Tundra fell.  The location and the coordinates of the Saana tundra fell are  69°02′37″North, 020°51′22″East.  The elevation of the Saana fell at the top is 1029 meters, the Kilpis-lake is at 473 meters and the Saana tundra lake on the East side of the Saana is a t 880 meters.

To ski along he other alternative route is to head North, which will take you to the Kilpisjärvi Hiking center, which is about 4 km away on the slope of the Saana fell, east of the Kilpis-lake. Saana lake is located at 69°03′00″North, 20°52′35″East.  At the shore of the Saana lake is the Saana lake day hut.

The weather at kilpis-lake. kilpisjärvi and the Saana lake can change very quickly, it is because of the high altitude, 473m, 880m and  1029 meters at the top of the Saana Fell. Always be prepared for any weather changes, and carry spare layers, wind protection, spare gloves, spare mitten and spare socks, sunglasses and possibly goggles for the windy conditions.
